Definition, Formula and Example Sentences Simple Present Tense

Simple Present Tense is a form of the verb to express facts, habits, or events that occur at the present time. In English, the use of the verb form is most often used when compared with other English tenses.
Non-action sentence is a sentence that is used to describe a situation or event. In this case, the non-action phrase used to express a situation or event that is taking place in the present. Sentence of non-action is also called nominal sentence. Nominal sentence is a sentence which the predicate is not a verb or a verb. Therefore, the predicate in a sentence of non-action in this tense is the auxiliary verb to be (am, is, are), so that the Simple Present Tense formula as follows:
(+) S + To be (am, is, are) + Complement
(-) S + To be (am, is, are) + Not + Complement
(?) To be (am, is, are) + S + Complement?
Action sentence is a sentence that contains the action in a situation or event. In this case, the action phrase used to express an action which is a habit and routine or declare acts containing general truth. Sentence action is also called the verbal sentence. Verbal sentence is a sentence that is the predicate verb or verb. Thus, the title of the action in the sentence is a verb tense, so the Simple Present Tense formula as follows:
(+) S + Verb 1 (-s/es) + Object/Adverb
(-) S + Do / Does + Not + Verb 1 + Object/Adverb
(?) Do / Does + S + Verb 1 + Object/Adverb?

Example:
(+) Mr.Jono Reads a newspaper
(-) Mr.Jono Don't Read a newspaper
(?) Do Mr.Jono Read a newspaper?
